This formula contains grapefruit extract, which inhibits the CYP3A4 enzyme and can raise blood levels of numerous medicines including some statins, calcium channel blockers and immunosuppressants. It also contains guarana and green tea extract, both caffeine sources, and monoammonium glycyrrhizinate, a licorice-derived compound that can raise blood pressure and lower potassium with sustained use. No independent clinical trial of the finished Sugar Reset formula has been published. The label lists a 200 mg proprietary blend covering 22 ingredients, so per-ingredient amounts are not disclosed. The NIH Office of Dietary Supplements states that any potential benefit from chromium supplementation appears to be very small.
